Clothing can be made of fair trade cotton. According Fair Trade International, “Since the introduction of the first Fairtrade Minimum Prices for cotton in 2004, Fairtrade has demonstrated it can substantially improve the lives of cotton producing communities.”¹

Most fair trade clothing is found in small boutiques like Ten Thousand Villages or online through stores like Etsy, a handmade clothing store.

There are labelling organizations who certify products as “Fair Trade”. The Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International has become the main umbrella group that sets fair trade standards.²
