Fair trade food products became more common in the 1980s. These product types were part of a second wave of fair trade products, preceded by the handy crafts market.
Some agricultural fair trade food products include:

- Coffee
- Dried fruits
- Fruit Juice
- Nuts
- Rice
- Sugar
- Spices
- Tea
There are labelling organizations who certify products as “Fair Trade”. The Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International has become the main umbrella group that sets fair trade standards.1
