Golf Shops - Shop, Purchase, Buy Online
To the average person golf may seem like a leisure activity, comparable to weekend fishing with the guys, but not a high-end sport worthy of athletic prestige. These common misconceptions can be undercut with a single observation: Tiger Woods is esteemed and very rich. People don't get paid for their leisure time.
Golf requires equipment like any other sport. The golf club is nothing to scoff at; much skill and precision goes into choosing the right club for the right drive.
There are three main types of golf clubs:
- Irons: Used for shorter shots approaching the greens. They are the most versatile golf clubs allowing a variety of shots. Irons can be roughly divided into cavity back irons (hollow backed) and muscle back irons (smooth backs), which can be further divided into long, mid, and short irons.
- Wedges can be divided into pitching, sand, gap, and lob wedges.
- Woods: Mostly used for long shots as they have large spherical heads and a flattened sole. Originally the woods were made of maple, but modern heads are made of hollowed steel or composite materials (nicknamed metalwoods). The longest wood is called the Driver.
- Putters are used mainly on the green.
Golf shops have a wide selection of golf clubs, hybrids included, soft
cleats, golf apparel, golf gloves (get a good grip on the club
to ward off the bogey-monster), golf bags, and of course golf
balls. Visiting online golf shops, and local golf shops,
will guarantee you have the equipment you need for high performances.
The rest is up to you.
