Hockey Shop - Shop, Purchase, Buy Online
Though
we Canadians think of "hockey" as synonymous with "ice
hockey" (self-styled as the "Coolest Game on Earth"),
there are other popular variations of the game of hockey,
too: field hockey, road hockey, and rink hockey, to name
a few. Each variation has its own distinctive equipment and
rules, though all work around the basic principle of pushing
a ball or disc into a net with a stick. For example, Ice
hockey players sport full equipment to protect them from
collisions with the boards set up around the ice rink on
which they play, with other players (it is a full contact
sport), and to protect them from the puck itself. Field hockey
equipment, on the other hand, consists only of a curved stick,
shin guards, and sometimes a mouthguard. You can find all
of these things at your local hockey shop.
A hockey shop is often specialized in one variant of hockey or another,
providing all the equipment and clothing that would be necessary
to play. Ice hockey shops offer extensive ranges of equipment,
from skates through shin pads and shoulder pads to helmets,
for both the players and for the goaltenders, while field
hockey shops offer wide selections of sticks and shin guards,
balls, and all the necessary clothing. Also, a hockey
shop may sell professional hockey merchandise, including
shirts and both replica and authentic jerseys.
